Google map (gps) for UK on Mobile

In gadget on December 21, 2007 at 3:58 am

Google has launched the UK-specific version of its popular Java mobile app – Google Maps mobile. Users in Britain can now see Tube stations, and use the local search. If you have a Java-enabled handset (almost all new phones support Java), you can download the UK version of Google Maps mobile from google.co.uk/gmm.

In the other news, Google finally added support for GPS to the latest version (v1.5.1) of Google Maps mobile. In the application press “0″ to quickly pin-point your location with a blue dot. Originally, Google promoted this feature as being exclusive for the Helio Drift. Now they’ve quietly released an update that should work on all major platforms. (via: Crave, WebWorkerDaily)

Google Rallies Allies in Open Linux Phone Initiative « Linux and Open Source Blog

In gadget, linux on November 6, 2007 at 7:43 pm

Google and 33 other companies have announced an ambitious industry alliance that will maintain a completely open source mobile phone stack. The Open Handset Alliance (OHA) says phones based on its Linux-based “Android” stack will reach market in as soon as eight months.

The Android stack is based on “open Linux kernel,” the group says. It also includes a full set of mobile phone application software, in order to “significantly lower the cost of developing and distributing mobile devices and services,” OHA said.

The stack appears to have been created by Android, a mobile phone software house that Google acquired just over two years ago. The Android stack’s name is apparently a reflection of co-founder Andy Rubin’s fondness for robots. Rubin previously co-founded Danger, a software house that continues to provide software for the Sidekick “hiptop” marketed by T-Mobile.

sonicstage: non_unicode program sucks

In gadget on August 16, 2007 at 9:21 am
For me, the sonicstage is absolutely a piece of junk.

1.v3.x doesn’t support NW-S series.
2.v4.0 big bug about errors “selected music file cannot be played back sonicstage”, which always happen when you restart sonicstage.
the Chinese Characters can not be shown properly in sonicstage, but on player, no problem. this is what I can stand for, and I have to, because Sonicstage can import *.m3u playlist files, so even in sonicstage can not recognize Chinese correctly, it doesn’t matter.
3.v4.2 and 4.3, Chinese character can be shown correctly, but on Player, all are rubbish codes.
4. All the version can not import files including Chinese.

Conclusion, have to use Chinese Windows OS.

而且,当传输完毕后,不要立刻plug off,看player上的显示,体质了accesss图示,再plug off,否则很容易出现no data的error on player。

The new Motorola Macro is similar to the MOTORIZR Z3 but with WiFi, the Motorola Marco is a very nice looking mobile phone which features the norm like GSM and EDGE radio plus the reasonable 2 megapixel camera which are all the basic specs as the Z3 has got.

Motorola Marco pic 2

The difference with the Macro is that this one has WIFI oh yes bring it on, BGR have some amazing photos which you can see by clicking the source link below. Adding the Wifi chip to the Motorola Macro adds the benefit of making it compatible with T-Mobile@Home entirely possible plus the JUIX OS has been worked on a little. The Macro mobile phone is hopefully going to be launched sometime later in the year.

QD syn procedure

In gadget on July 11, 2007 at 8:46 pm
1. Install PC Suite for N-Gage QD,(http://www.n-gage.com/en-R1/support/NGageQD/)

Other “Nokia PC Suite” doesn’t work on QD, such as Nokia PC Suite 6.84 Release 10

2. For XP, you should check the bluetooth ports about QD, then tick corresponding port in mRouter Connection Property.

For Vista, it seems mRouter is not compatible, you can not see any ports for QD. So you must SELECT TO A BLUETOOTH TOOTH each time.

3. If the bluetooth gadget is taken off, to log off then log in (to activate bluetooth gadget, if the gadget is never pluged off, then no need to re-login.)

My trial is on vista. Any comment is welcome.
